The Project

Gas has a number of advantages seen from a system perspective: It is an efficient and highly flexible fuel to utilise characterised by high ramping rates; it can be used by a wide number of applications including industrial processes, CHP and transportation; it is fairly easy to store especially in Denmark with two large storage facilities; and, finally, the climate impact is limited with low CO2 emissions from natural gas and none or even negative from gas based on renewable sources. Thus, gas is an excellent fuel for facilitating the challenging Danish transition towards an energy system independent of fossil fuels in the long term.
